Super Sundaes Ice Cream

I needed an Ice Cream cake in a hurry for my wife's birthday. I stopped at the closest local ice cream store to my home in Hillsborough and saw a freezer full of ice cream cakes. When I asked to purchase a cake, I was told that I couldn't have any of those and that I needed to order a cake at least 2 or 3 days in advance. I then went to the next closest place, Super Sundaes. This is an ice cream store that we used to go to very often when my children were young. I saw some cakes in a freezer and was also told that all of those were already sold as orders for other customers. The owner must have seen my frustration and disappointment because he asked when I needed the cake for. I told him for tonight, in about an hour or so. He went in the back of the store and pulled out a pre made ice cream cake that just needed to be decorated and told me to come back in an hour. This is called customer service. He saw that I had a need, and he took care of my problem. I could have easily just gone a little further to ShopRite where they always have Carvel cakes in their freezer, but this small business owner knows what needs to be done to stay in business, and to make and keep customers in a very competitive market. I highly recommend Super Sundaes, for going out of their way to satisfy a customer and recommend you try them and support small, local business that go the extra mile. Oh, and the cake was delicious.

I'm writing the review based on my experience before the new owners took it over. I have yet to try it since the new owners came in here in 2024. Surprisingly, I did not discover Super Sundaes until after covid in 2020. It was the first ice cream shop though to open up at the time and I absolutely HAD TO try it based on a rave review from our then mayor. It did not disappoint in quality and I was also happy to learn that it was withing walking distance of where I live! You know this is a decent ice cream place when you get there in the summer hours and see a bunch of kids there with their parents after their practices for summer sports and such. Great to see this and I hope the new owners keep it just as busy! Service has always been decent for me. The only issue that I ever had was with a cake I wanted to get a year ago for a family member's birthday. I unfortunately had to cancel it as the family member was going through a medical issue and we weren't going to be able to celebrate it that year. I felt like I was given a hard time about this (I understand they may have lost business, but there was no way on rescheduling the event to get the cake which would have went to waste if I picked it up). Other than that, the cakes were always fantastic for me whenever I got them there. This is the only reason for 1 less star. I surely do hope the new owners can keep the tradition of amazing cakes going as well as the quality of ice cream. I plan to get there a little in the summer and will surely update this review then based on the new ownership!

Hey, I'm here at Super Sunday in Hillsboro New Jersey. This ice cream place is great. It's it's got great all serve. The people agreed the new owners off the charts and you gotta try their milkshake and remember Thursdays milkshake specials and their cakes are out of the world. Gotta come and see it.

Found this place by accident. Really glad we did. Very tasty and creamy Ice cream. Delicious flavors. Really enjoyed it and will be back

My final check in as they are retiring and closing up shop....potentially selling to new owners but not sure so I'm stocking up on a few pints while I still can! Great people, great ice cream, great addition to the community...they will be missed!
